Polenta, Fermented Asparagus, and Smoked Chicken
If you’ve never experienced a gathering on Adam Lee’s front porch, you are missing out on one of Youngstown’s absolute best-kept secrets. I first met Adam nearly a decade ago. Parker Maynard introduced us back when I was doing volunteer work with the local nonprofit, Flying High. Not long after, Adam invited me to one of his legendary front porch get-togethers, and it blew me away. I’ve been to several since, and the verdict is always exactly the same: they are simply amazing

What causes basements to flood?
In most cases, flooded basements occur when rainwater isn’t diverted away from the property. Gutters and downspouts are the most common tools that are used to divert water away from the property. When working correctly, a gutter system will strategically divert thousands of gallons of water away from a property. When the gutter system is not working correctly, those same thousands of gallons of water will seep into the ground and then eventually through your basement walls,

On their own, collard greens have a lot of nutrients . If you want to try a vegetarian version of collard greens, please check out the video below for the steps on how to make it. Getting grass clippings with my Lawnboy Mower
I've always been a big fan of Lawnboy mowers since the 80s . Lawnboy mowers were like the "Cadillac" of mowers back in the day. In my neighborhood, most of the people with the best-kept lawns had a Lawnboy mower! I had a Lawnboy mower given to me in 2024. I couldn't get it started, so I took it into the shop in mid-summer 2025 . And I tell you what, I loved using that thing! I cut several acres with that mower this past summer, and I would use the grass clippings in my gard

Students Teaching Students How to Propagate
This summer, Brother Nature taught a couple of homeschooled students how to propagate various plants. Those kids then took what they learned and shared it with a group of YSU International Students. They all had a super fun time! Propagating plants is an affordable way to develop a pollinator garden. Knowing how to propagate perennials means you can grow new plants from the ones you already have—which means you won't have to pay for them! This knowledge also creates an opport
