My granddaughter is always a big help in the garden whenever she comes to visit. On this day, she helped me load some dirt into the wheelbarrow; she also helped water the garden.
It's important to introduce gardening activities to children at an early age....at any age for that matter, because if we don't, they won't have an interest in growing food when they're older.
And if they have no interest in growing food when they're older, the cost of food will continue to go up while the quality of our food will continue to go down.
So imagine if you would, a world in which adults would give the same amount of praise and rewards to a child that grows a garden as they do a child that plays basketball, runs track, etc; now imagine yourself doing what you can to make the vision a reality.
